The Company invests principally in operating digital infrastructure assets, with a predominant focus on data centres, mobile telecommunications / broadcast towers, distributed sensor networks and fibre-optic network assets, primarily located in the UK, the EEA and North America.
The predominant focus is on acquiring medium-sized, cash generative Digital Infrastructure platforms, with attractive growth prospects. The Company seeks to be a disciplined buyer of these assets by focusing on transactions offering relative value advantage, strong market positioning and competitive benefit.
The value-creation model seeks to support the ambitions of platform companies, through the deployment of strategic insight, capital expenditure and funding for tactical acquisitions. The Investment Manager’s value creation model is anchored in strategic insight and years of operating experience at the highest levels of the Digital Infrastructure industry.
In addition to expanding the platform’s productive asset base, Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited seeks to enhance capabilities by importing operational best practice honed at some of the largest organisations in the Digital Infrastructure sector. With a growing asset base, enhanced performance and a larger revenue base, the Company can target stronger margins and NAV growth for the benefit of shareholders and other stakeholders.
Delivering long-term sustainable growth and returns for all stakeholders
The strategy and business model are based around investing under a Buy, Build and Grow model. Under this model, the Company seeks to be a disciplined buyer of cash-generative assets, with the aim of expanding and improving them.
This approach affords a lower blended cost of entry (lower purchase price and capital expenditure at construction cost) than large-cap platforms. The Company believes its approach is unique in the way it aims to generate higher risk-adjusted returns for investors.
The strategy and business model are made possible by the strength of the team, which places it in a strong position to acquire and grow the right assets. The Investment Manager has one of the largest dedicated Digital Infrastructure investment teams in the market.
The Company strategy is underpinned by the surging growth in data consumption and traffic which is, based on current data traffic patterns and trends (including the adoption of 5G technology), set to provide an economic “tailwind” which the Investment Manager believes could last for a decade or more.
